Now served through self-hosted edge (Caddy on DigitalOcean) instead of ngrok
Radio: a new Two radios report at /radio/dual shows what running the RSP1 and the HackRF at the same time has added, with the digital and trunked findings for the station owner.
Radio: a new owner-only Digital and trunked systems page lists the P25, DMR and NXDN systems the two radios found, and the status page now shows the HackRF next to the RSP1.
Added a HackRF + PortaPack page listing everything the station does with its HackRF and every app in the Mayhem v2.4.0 firmware, marked by what this receive-only unit without an SD card can use.
The media acquisition notes now include Decluttarr, which retries stuck downloads.
The media acquisition notes now cover the optional debrid (TorBox, Real-Debrid) and Notifiarr keys.
The media acquisition notes now cover the move from Jellyseerr to its successor, Seerr.
A self-hosted media server now runs on this machine behind its own sign-in, and the unlisted page about it describes the running setup.
Added a cell scan page listing the LTE networks and serving cell heard by the EM7455 modem.
Added an unlisted page describing a planned self-hosted media server for this machine and how to play it on TVs and phones.
A second spectrum survey now runs around the clock on a HackRF from 24 MHz to 6 GHz (above 1.7 GHz only measured, never listened to); /radio/spectrum switches between it and the RSP1, and the new /radio/spectrum/compare shows what each radio found.
Added a disclaimer line to every page footer and a full disclaimer page at /disclaimer.html.
Reverted the P25 voice audio change from earlier today: it made calls harder to understand, so the audio is back to the previous version. (The re-centring to reach starred talkgroups stays.)
P25 voice sounds a bit cleaner (better 8-to-16 kHz filtering and vocoder settings), and when a starred talkgroup is on a channel outside the radio's window the receiver now re-centres to reach it while keeping the control channel locked.
On /radio/p25 the owner can now star talkgroups to always follow their voice, and see how many distinct radios are active per talkgroup and site in a 1 or 2 hour window, counted with a key that rotates each window so no radio id is stored or linkable.
The P25 page shows which call is playing and why it's silent, lists every call played with its speech, frame counts and a clip for the owner, names 194 talkgroups with their agency and source, and counts calls as sessions rather than repeated grant messages.
The P25 mode now plays the voice of public safety calls that are in the clear, for the station owner only: our own P25 decoder follows each call and the open mbelib codec turns it into audio; encrypted calls are never tuned.
Named 82 of the P25 talkgroups this receiver hears around Southfield (Detroit Police districts, Southfield/Oakland fire and police, Macomb, Wayne and Washtenaw agencies), from the system's public listing; the P25 page now colours each by service.
The P25 page now names the system (Michigan MPSCS) and shows each call's priority, emergency and encryption flags, all read from the control channel; talkgroup names can be filled in from public listings, with a glossary of what the data means.
The live radio has a P25 mode: choosing it reads the local trunked system's control channel and shows the site, channel plans and active talkgroups on /radio/p25, for the station owner only.
The spectrum survey now names who is licensed on each signal it finds (FCC and Canadian licence records), listens for FT8 on 6 and 10 m and for weather balloons, and its 24-hour waterfall draws again.
The spectrum survey now decodes much more: aircraft (ADS-B, UAT, ACARS, VDL2), ships (AIS), FM station names (RDS) and side-band amateur voice, with a table of scheduled listens on /radio/spectrum.
Added /radio/spectrum: the receiver now surveys 24 MHz to 1.7 GHz about once a minute whenever nobody is listening, with a 24-hour waterfall, a catalog of every signal found, and decoded examples.
The radio's owner key now works however it's capitalised, and a key saved in the browser before a change is forgotten instead of failing silently.
The /radio page updates live again (meters, on the air, transcripts), picking a signal shows that it's retuning until the radio is back, and listening rejoins the new signal by itself.
The radio no longer goes silent after changing signals: a stuck receiver is now stopped and restarted on its own, and the nightly SEMTN recording is back on its timer.
The live page is now a tuner: pick from 15 signals (2 m repeaters, simplex, NOAA weather, DTW ATIS, FM broadcast) and the radio retunes, with a Winamp-style spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope and S-meter showing the channel being listened to.
Added a master list to /radio of every kind of transmission the receiver can tune, 10 kHz to 2 GHz, with frequencies, how to receive each, and whether it's live, built, possible, listen-only or not allowed.
The receiver now tunes itself: each night it tests gain and filter settings on real signals, keeps the ones that give the clearest audio, and corrects each repeater's frequency.
Fixed the live stream cutting in and out: KE8HR is now detected even when already transmitting at startup, plays continuously, and the receiver does less work so the stream keeps up.
The live stream now plays only KE8HR on 146.760 MHz, and the receiver no longer leaves that slice for APRS turns.
Raised the receiver's gain so KE8HR comes in about 20 dB above the noise instead of 7, kept the live feed as hourly recordings, and added receiver test results to /radio/status.
Added the Spectrum explorer at /radio/explorer, a live waterfall and 3D terrain of the 2 m band with repeaters marked, and SEMTN session pages now include a waterfall picture of the whole night.
Digital bursts on the repeaters are now decoded with DSD-FME, naming the protocol and transcribing digital voice alongside analog.
Added /radio/digital: APRS stations decoded on 144.390 MHz twice an hour, and digital bursts on the repeaters identified by signal type.
Removed the Michigan events calendar from the home page and added transcripts grouped by repeater, plus a full transcript viewer at /radio/transcripts with filters and audio for each transmission.
Rebuilt the home page as KD8MWZ's signal control panel, with live panels for the repeaters, a spectrum view, the SEMTN archive and the rig; every event listing is still there under Ground intel, and /radio, /radio/status and /traffic share the new look.
Added a radio status page at /radio/status and links to Live repeaters and the SEMTN traffic archive at the top of the home page; the live feed now shows a signal meter for each repeater and monitors the 146.520 MHz simplex calling frequency.
Added Live repeaters at /radio: live audio from Southeast Michigan amateur repeaters with a machine transcript of each transmission, linked from the footer.
Added a short privacy note to every page: visits are logged on our own server to understand traffic and spot attacks.
Added the SEMTN traffic archive at /traffic: an unofficial, receive-only record of the Southeastern Michigan Traffic Net with nightly status and reviewed radiograms, linked from the footer.
Added 33 events for Saturday, October 10 around Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor, with Hush Haunted Attraction featured at the top.
Added a footer linking to the other sites in the network.
Launched michigan.im, a calendar of Michigan local events with a source link for every listing.
